Anne and John's wedding - Rosebank

Getting Married

When a couple decides to marry there is often a great sense of excitement and anticipation! On a practical level there is also often much to plan and choosing a celebrant is just one of the many decisions to be made!

Clearly you want a Celebrant who will be sensitive to your needs and one who is competent to guide you through the legal requirements and paperwork.

On the day, your chosen Celebrant should be able to deliver a vibrant, meaningful service that leaves friends, family and of course, the both of you, with the feeling that your wedding day has been joyful and memorable and that the service has been a true reflection of all your hopes and dreams for the journey on which you are embarking.

Your First Step

Call or email me with the planned date, time and place for your wedding so that I can confirm my availability.

I am happy to arrange an obligation free meeting so that you may meet me in person.

What happens when you choose me as your celebrant?

I arrange with you a mutually convenient date, time and place for our first important meeting! I will advise you of the necessary documents to bring to this first meeting, such as birth certificates, Decree Absolute, etc.

At Our First Meeting

Together we complete and sign the NOTICE OF INTENDED MARRIAGE form. This form MUST be lodged with your celebrant, by law, ONE MONTH AND ONE DAY prior to your Wedding Day!

  • I confirm all details as to the time, date and venue for your Ceremony, including an alternative venue in case of rain, should your service be planned as an outdoor event.

The Booking Fee is paid to confirm my services. It should be noted that the booking fee is non-refundable.

  • We discuss the type of Ceremony you would like, including readings, vows, and any rituals or ceremonies you may wish to include as well as any special requirements you may have.
  • I will provide you with as much assistance and guidance in these matters as possible. Once committed to a Ceremony I am also committed to you as a couple and to the planning of your service. You will leave our first meeting with a folder of details to assist you in writing your service. I provide a range of poetry and a booklet entitled “It’s Your Wedding”, along with sample services to assist you in planning your day and writing your vows.

We then set a date and time for our second meeting, which is usually held around 2-3 weeks prior to the Wedding date.

At our Second Meeting

  • I would re-confirm all Wedding details and note any details should a rehearsal be required.
  • Together we would revise and review the draft of the Wedding Ceremony you have chosen.
  • Make the final payment of fees due according to the Tax Invoice/Statement of Fees.
  • Confirm the names of Witnesses
  • Confirm that a table will be available for the signing of documents and any other additional requirements for your service.

After the Ceremony

I provide you with a written copy of the service in a simple but elegant white folder including your vows, readings etc. and any other information you would like included in this memento.

As a professional Celebrant I am called upon to adhere to very strict codes of practice and, in the interests of my own growth and development, I really welcome any feedback that you might wish to give and would naturally follow up with a phone call some weeks after your ceremony to ensure you have been happy with my services.

MAY YOUR UNION BE LONG AND HAPPY, RICH AND FULFILLING, JOYFUL AND BLESSED
