Amanda and Tina's commitment ceremony - Pearl Beach

To me, Love should always be celebrated and in our challenging world today, I believe it cannot be celebrated too much!

For a couple to stand before friends, family and the wider community and have their love and commitment recognised and appreciated; to stand before those who know them, even a little, and ask them to bear witness to that commitment, I believe, blesses ALL who participate.

I actively employ the skills of careful listening, providing support and ensuring a client’s wishes are respected at all times.

I work with my clients to:

Craft the Service
Select poetry and readings
Write the Service including provision, where desired, of a Certificate of Commitment for signing by both parties and witnesses.
Provide additional needs if required

Prior to delivering the service, I always ensure that all my words are emailed to the client for careful verification of facts, pronunciation and spelling of names. It is also important that the general “feel” of the service is congruent with my client’s wishes.

There are as many ways to celebrate a union as there are couples that wish to undertake such a journey and my role, as Celebrant, is to offer as much or as little guidance and input as the couple would wish.

I take care to look especially at the personal and meaningful experiences the two people have shared together, as well as their journeys with significant friends and family members. These journeys have moulded each person, their cultural background, private beliefs, passions, interests and their friendships.

Each person’s life is like the ripples in a pond, moving outward from the smallest and most intimate circle and extending through family, friends, work colleagues, acquaintances and so on, to the outer reaches of a wider “community” and in this is a rich diversity of experience which informs the words we speak at a Ceremony and the rituals in which we choose to participate.

Above all, such moments should be joyful and uplifting!

I leave you with a few thoughts on Love...
